Like a broken washer isn't enough to deal with. Now my car is broken too. It really sucks. It is either the fuel filter, or the fuel pump. I am hoping for the fuel filter. That will be so much cheaper to fix than the fuel pump. :O)
Good news on the washer. The part I am thinking might be the problem is only 50 dollars. I am going to have someone come out and give me a free estimate, and if that is it, then I will order it and fix it myself. Hopefully that is it, and it's not something electronic.

Tales of a broken washer

Oh My Gosh! Who would've thought that a broken washer could be such a huge headache! I have spent the better part of the day taking my washer apart and cleaning hoses, then putting it back together. I have probably done this 4 times now. I have cleaned out every hose I can find. The funny thing is there was only one little bitty black hose that leads to nothing but a plug, that had any type of blockage at all. I know it drains down to that spot, because I forgot to connect the hose there and it drained all over my floor. I know that the hose from that spot is clear, because I took it off and ran water through in in my sink. I do not understand why when I put that hose back on, it refuses to drain. If it drains out of there, and there is no blockage in the hose that connects to there, why won't it drain when they are connected????? I cannot tell you how irritated I have gotten because of this thing. I know I should just let it be for a while, but it does not make any sense to me, so I am having a hard time letting it go. I am bound and determined to make it work. I know I have the stronger will. It will work. I am going to make it work. I am just not sure how. :O/

OOPS and GOOD NEWS

Oops, I dropped the ball and missed my monthly post. I guess I will have to post twice this month. Our good news, I guess, would be Summer's good news. We received a letter in the mail today from The America Library of Poetry. She has been entered into a contest for her poem 'Chased'. I will add the poem at the end. She will find out if she wins anything at the end of September. Even if she doesn't she has been given a chance to buy a copy of the book they are going to publish her poem in. The book will be called 'Acclaimed'. We are excited about her good news.

Summer's Poem

Chased

The horse chased the cow,
The cow chase the wolf,
The wolf chased the goat,
The goat chased the sheep,
The sheep chased the dog,
The dog chased the pig,
The pig chased the cat,
The cat chased the chicken,
The chicken chased the mouse,
The mouse chased the lizard,
The lizard chased the cricket,
Who jumped frantically throughout the farmyard.

I have made a goal to add something to this blog at least once a month and then we will work from there. I need to get in the habit of taking my camera places because I miss lots of photo opportunities when I do not have it.

Recently I went to a track and field day for Megan, and she took 1st place in the long jump, and 2nd place in the relay race. Megan and I also made paper replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe for her class' around the world project. I do have pics of those, I will have to upload them.

Summer has been busy creating all sorts of fun projects like a family of paper mice and a paper cage for them. It was funny to watch the cat pounce into the cage to try to get the paper mice. We all had a good laugh.

Eric and Jared spend most of their time playing video games. I am always threatening to take them away to get them to come downstairs. Oh the joys of being a mom.

As for me I am busier than usual because I started school. So along with the dishes and laundry and church activites and children's activities I now have my own school work to do. I am enjoying it tremendously and hope it doesn't change. I have just finished my first two classes, both with A's. :O) Hopefully that doesn't change either.

Sunday, June 7

School is finally out, but for some reason things haven't slowed down yet. I am hoping that this week will be better. Well after I get Eric off to scout camp tomorrow at 5:45am. Isn't it lovely to have to get up so early in the morning. He is excited, so it is worth it.

I am still without an AC, seeing as a mouse got in it and ruined it. It hasn't been too bad. I sure do wish I had the $330 it is gonna take to fix it. I know it will get unbearable eventually.

Well since I have to get up so early, I had better get to bed somewhat early tonight.

WOW! I can't wait for the school year to be done. I am going to miss the boys when they go to their dad's house, but it sure will be nice to not have to get up so early in the morning. Especially since starting next year Eric will be in early morning seminary. He got to go to a welcome to seminary day today. It had me up at 5 am, but he seems excited about seminary now, so I guess it was worth it. The girls won't be going to their dad's house, cause he can't afford it, but that is ok with me. I wish Gene was the same way. I could move around the world, then I wouldn't have to deal with it. LOL I would never be so lucky. Well I am on a time crunch today, all that end of the school year stuff. I will hopefully have more time this summer to add to this. Lots of Love to all of you.

Life Is Good

Nothing really has changed. It is spring. I love spring. The kids are all doing great. It is spring break for the kids, or at least the boys. The girls have one more day before theirs starts. I am loving our weather.

My girls came to me tonight and brought me hand made cards that said 'you're the best'. I love it when my kids are so cute and sweet. It makes this mothering thing worth it. I think they felt sorry for me. I had a headache and was kind of snippy. How can something like that not change your mood? They are so cute.

Eric and I are going out to shoot his .22 tomorrow. It will be the last day we can. He and Jared have to go to their dad's house for the next week. Bummer!

My dear friend Sarah has been after me for quite a while to go on facebook. Well I finally did. And now I could kick myself for not doing it sooner. I have found friends I have wanted to get in contact with for years. I am so excited. I have to tell my sister. Some of them are mutual friends. She will be excited too. Thanks again, Sarah.

We are still in our house. But for how long is the question. No one seems to know. But I will not complain. I like my house. That is the saddest part of this divorce. The fact that my house will, soon, no longer be 'my' house. :( Oh well. After all, it is just a house.

Well. I think that is about all, for now.

Friday, January 30

Hello everyone. Things here are a little hectic. We started packing so we could move and now that most of the stuff is packed, we found out that we won't have to move for at least another month. So I guess we will live without all the extras and and keep them packed. I can't imagine unpacking everything and then repacking it all again.
Eric has been working at a local stable. He even get to ride some of the horses. Summer and Megan are having fun going to help him some times. They got to groom some of the horses one day. They were thrilled to death. Jared has no interest in the horses. He is too busy playing his Nintendo DS. I wouldn't have had to get him anything else for Christmas and he would have still been happy with the DS.

Christmas

Happy New Year! We had the best Christmas. We spent 10 days up in Utah. It was beautiful. I love the snow, but I have decided I don't love it enough to live where is snows alot. I got STUCK in my sister's driveway and didn't even get to visit my old friend Chantal. It was great to be with family for the Holidays. The kids had a blast. They loved being able to visit all their cousins. Five of them were there. I had my parents and two sisters also. It was wonderful, but next time we decide to go visit her I think it will be during the summer. I think one of my favorite things we did was go to Temple Square. I had not been there since I was a little girl and only had vague memories from the trip. It was beautiful and inspiring. My kids loved it too. I wish we would have had more time to do stuff, but we had a great time none the less.
The kids are all back in school now. I have started a part time substitute special ed aid position at a charter school here in Benson. Today was my very first day. I am totally exhausted. The child I was in charge of took me on a mile long run when he decided to take off down the road. I about died. Oh well. I got my exercise for the WEEK!!!!
Well things are a bit crazy around here. More crazy than normal. We will be moving out of this house in a couple of weeks, so I have started packing. The house is a bigger mess than normal. Nothing can be found. I am about to go crazy. I think the kids are too. We will survive. We always do. Wish us luck. We will probably need it.
